Care during a crisis

The pandemic caused strain for so many of our beloved charities in 2020; COVID has meant that many have had to rapidly adjust not only their working conditions, but rethink how they raise funds without community gatherings, events or their shops.

For Rainbows Children’s Hospice in Loughborough the challenge of caring for over 500 children with life-limiting conditions became even more difficult – as did securing the funds necessary to make this vital support possible.

Our appeal for Rainbows brought donors up to date with the adaptations the charity made to its care, freeing up beds within the local hospital, offering counselling to local families and creating their own special programme for emergency care that nurses like Tony, pictured above, could take out into the community.

It also asked donors to send back their words of love and hope on their own rainbow – all of which were displayed at the hospice.

This appeal raised over £127,000 for the charity. We were delighted to work on Rainbows’ Christmas appeal too, which grossed £132,000.

“Pebblebeach supported us through our appeal in the midst of Covid 19. Their responsiveness, attention to detail and ability to fill the gaps within our knowledge and skills base was hugely beneficial. Added to that, they are a really lovely bunch!”
